BEST OF BRITISH

Catherine Summers and her lively 5-piece pop band present a 2-set show of Britain’s iconic music intertwined with tid-bits of history from the 60s to today’s anthems.

From artists such as The Beatles, Elton John, Coldplay, Oasis, Bowie, Ed Sheeran, Kate Bush, Adele, George Michael and Amy Winehouse and more!

Catherine Summers is one of Perth‘s premier vocalists. Her rich honeyed voice, broad vocal range, engaging stage presence and ‘instantly familiar’ candour has given her a title of a ‘delight to watch’. As an ex-pat Brit herself (now proud AU citizen), is excited to bring these songs to life alongside a 5-piece band featuring some of Perth’s premiere musicians. A night, weaving world-class music with stories of her life growing up in the UK.

ELTON, BOWIE BEATLES

Elton/Bowie/Beatles is an homage to some of the greatest cultural and musical exports from Britain ever.

Summers emulates the low notes of Bowie, Lennon, McCartney and John and she actually hits the high notes better in some cases (for example, in covering Elton’s Bennie And The Jets, Catherine gets really high in the chorus the way Elton used to – alas, he can’t now since having had a particular throat operation).

The 150-minute long set includes most of the bigger hits from each of the three artists – too many songs to list here but let’s just say it’s one hell of a magical history tour. There are also a couple of medleys that defy the usual ‘naffness’ of the very word ‘medley’. The way Cathrine and her band segue snippets of songs is far classier than any ‘Stars on 45’-type mash.

SALUTE TO THE NOUGHTIES

‘Salute To The Noughties’ – a party night of hits of the 2000s to 2010. This is the period that saw the start of the dominance of Coldplay, the breakthrough of Lady Gaga and Adele, the age of Duffy, Estelle, Amy Winehouse and Lilly Allen. From the infectious sounds of Florence & The Machine to the era of Britney and Beyoncé.

Step back in time with ‘Salute To The Noughties’, a musical journey that revisits unforgettable tunes between 2000 and 2010. This spectacular evening includes classics like ‘Brightside’ from The Killers, ‘Sunday Morning’ by Maroon, Sophie Elis-Bextor‘s ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’
